If you cannot add a music or audio file to a Movavi Clips project, the issue is usually related to the file location, format, or access restrictions.

Why This Happens

An audio file can be added only if it:

  • is stored locally on your device;

  • is available in Gallery or My Music;

  • is fully downloaded (not streamed from cloud services);

  • is in a supported format.

Files stored in other apps, cloud storage, or subscription libraries may not be visible inside Movavi Clips.

Start Here

1. Add Audio from the App

  1. Open your project in Movavi Clips.

  2. Tap the Audio icon above the timeline.

  3. Tap the blue + button.

  4. Choose music from:

    • your device gallery;

    • Movavi Clips built-in library.

  5. Tap Select  next to the track.

  6. Tap the check mark to place the audio on the timeline.

2. Check Where the File Is Stored

The app cannot access audio files that are:

  • stored only in cloud services;

  • part of subscription libraries;

  • located inside other apps;

  • not downloaded to the device.

If needed, download the file directly to your device storage first.

3. Check Audio Format

Movavi Clips supports:

  • MP3 (.mp3)

  • Mono or Stereo

  •  8–320 Kbps (CBR or VBR)

Other formats may not appear in the list or may fail to import.

Important Notes

  • Music from streaming or subscription services cannot be added unless the track was purchased and downloaded locally.

  • Access to audio files depends on system media permissions and copyright restrictions.
