As of right now, if you are unable to record any audio and using macOS 14 or macOS 15, there are several ways to enable audio recording on your device.

The easiest and quickest solution by far is to use legacy audio capture method - SoundGrabber.

Please, download and open SoundGrabber 3 via this link.

Open the application, (Control)+click on SoundGrabber3.pkg and select 'Open'. Agree on the start-up prompts and Terms of Service, and run the process.

Once the installation has passed - simply restart your macOS powered device, and run a new recording.

Important note - if you encounter the message 'The Installation Has Failed' - this only means that the script which initialises and enables SoundGrabber after installation was unable to be ran by the .pkg installer file. The extension itself would install correctly at this point. If you encounter this message - simply finalise the installation, restart your device, and you will see SoundGrabber appearing in your Audio Devices list afterwards:

Do not swap to SoundGrabber manually, the application will do it automatically.

The Soundgrabber acts like a loopback audio output virtual device and will clone the audio from your speakers, in order to record it into your video.
